Fix the damaged part, keep the rest
Floor repair saves you from replacing a whole room because of a few bad boards. A scratched plank in front of the fridge, a seam that lifted after a leak, a transition strip that keeps coming loose — each of these can usually be fixed on its own.
The key is spare material. If you have leftover boxes from the original install, the repair can be close to invisible. If not, we help you find a matching product, or suggest a less noticeable place to borrow planks from, such as inside a closet.
Floor repairs we handle
- Floor repair of individual damaged vinyl or laminate planks
- Seams that opened or lifted pulled back together
- Swollen planks after a small leak replaced
- Loose or broken transition strips replaced
- Gaps at baseboards covered with new quarter round
- Squeaky spots in subfloor secured — [ASK PAVLO]
- Cracked tiles replaced where spares exist
- Trim and thresholds reset
Why floors get damaged in one spot
Most floor damage is local: water from a dishwasher, ice maker line or pet bowl; a dropped pan; furniture dragged without pads. Floating floors also separate where they were laid over a low spot, so the same seam opens again and again.
Because the damage is local, so is the fix. The skill is in removing a plank from the middle of a floor without disturbing its neighbors, and in finding out why it failed so the new one does not fail the same way.
Replacing a single plank
On a floating floor, planks are unclicked from the nearest wall or cut out in place and the new plank glued in. On a glue-down floor, the old plank is heated and lifted.
Water-damaged sections
The source of water must be fixed first, and the subfloor dry, before new planks go down.
Repair or replace the whole floor?
If damage is spread across the room, the product is no longer available, or the subfloor beneath is soft, a new floor can be the better spend. We tell you honestly which side of that line your floor is on, based on photos.
How it works
Measured before we start
1. Send photos
Two or three photos of the wall, door or floor and a line about what you want done. A tape measure in the shot helps.
2. Get the price
Pavlo texts you a clear price and the earliest date he can come. If something can only be judged in person, he says so up front.
3. Fixed and cleaned up
Neat work at the agreed time, the room left swept. Pay by cash, check or Zelle when it is done.

FAQ
Common questions
I don't have spare planks. Can it still be fixed?
Often — a matching product can sometimes be found, or planks borrowed from a closet and replaced there with a near match.
Can you fix hardwood floors?
[ASK PAVLO]
What photos help?
A close-up of the damage, a wide shot of the room, and a photo of any leftover flooring boxes or labels.
