New interior doors that swing true
Interior door installation is the job people expect to be quick and are surprised by. Hanging the door is the easy part; getting even gaps, a latch that clicks without a push, and a door that stays where you leave it takes care at the frame.
We install prehung units — door and frame together — when the old jamb is damaged or the size is changing, and fit new slabs into existing frames when the jamb is sound. Bedroom, bathroom, closet and pantry doors all fall under this page.
What's included
- Old door and casing removed carefully
- Prehung interior door installation, shimmed plumb and level
- Slabs fitted to existing frames: hinges and lockset bored to match
- New casing on both sides, nailed and caulked
- Passage, privacy or dummy hardware installed
- Door stops fitted so handles do not hit the wall
- Gap under the door set for carpet or hard floor
- Bifold and bypass closet doors
Prehung unit or slab only?
A prehung door arrives already hung in its own frame. It is the cleaner choice when the old jamb is split, out of square, or when you are changing the door width. The casing comes off, the old frame comes out, and the new unit is set into the rough opening.
A slab is just the door. It makes sense when the frame is in good shape and you only want a different style — for example, swapping hollow flat doors for solid shaker panels. The new slab is trimmed to the opening and the hinge and lock locations are cut to match.
Hollow core or solid core
Solid core doors block more sound and feel heavier in the hand; they also need all three hinges screwed into framing. Hollow core doors are lighter and cost less.
Closet doors
Bifold and sliding bypass doors run on tracks. We set the track level so the panels glide and close evenly in the middle.
How long does interior door installation take?
One prehung door with casing on both sides is usually a few hours. A slab that has to be planed, hinged and bored takes longer than a prehung unit. Several doors in one house go faster per door, because the cuts and setup are shared. Painting adds drying time — you get the schedule with the price.
How it works
Measured before we start
1. Send photos
Two or three photos of the wall, door or floor and a line about what you want done. A tape measure in the shot helps.
2. Get the price
Pavlo texts you a clear price and the earliest date he can come. If something can only be judged in person, he says so up front.
3. Fixed and cleaned up
Neat work at the agreed time, the room left swept. Pay by cash, check or Zelle when it is done.

FAQ
Common questions
Can you install a door I already bought?
Yes. Send a photo of the label so we can check the size and swing before the visit.
Do you paint new doors?
We can prime and paint them; factory-primed doors still need two finish coats.
What if the opening is not standard?
Openings that are out of square or an odd size are shimmed and trimmed to fit. Very unusual sizes may need a custom slab. [ASK PAVLO] ordering.
